Tuesday is here, and TWD presents Chocolate Chunkers!!! These cookies are like... woah. Stupendous, super rich, beyond chocolatey. Yummmmm! I wish I still had some around... but they are long gone, and so is my stash of Whole Foods bulk chocolate ;) Thank you, Claudia, for picking these!!
I honestly didn't think that this much chocolate could fit into a cookie. The recipe called for 19 oz! Crazy talk. There were definitely more chunks than batter in these guys.
True to form, I opted to use dried cranberries rather than raisins. They were delicious! Just the right amount of sweetness, tanginess and texture to add something special to the cookie. (As if it needed anything with all that chocolate... wait.. check out this next photo! That's only PART of the chocolate!)
My trusty #40 scoop worked well, although I overfilled it slightly for each cookie because the chunks were so unwieldy.
My cookies spread out quite a bit, and I think chilling the batter just a little would have helped keep the chocolate bits in better shape, rather than having them become melty explosions. Oh well... they still tasted great!
Check out Claudia's blog for the recipe (and if you are a chocolate lover, you should make this ASAP), and all of the other TWD blogs!
P.S. - sorry if I don't comment as much as I normally try to this week, it is kind of crazy!
